Here are just a few reasons:

- You get to go flying in gliders or aircraft. Cowbridge Squadron is able to offer flying every week where as many squadrons only fly a few times a year

- Visit RAF bases and see the aircraft and how they work, also if you are interested in joining the forces we can organise work experience camps

- Gain gliding and flying scholorships which help you if you are interested in getting your Pilots License

- Get the Duke of Edinburgh Award up to Gold Level (Award recognised by employers)

Still not convinced?

How about this :
- We provide your uniform for FREE
- We will help you get a BTEQ (2 GCSEs) in Aviation Studies
- Also there is a BTEQ (4 GCSEs) in Public Services and its FREE

Parade night activities

Our evenings are divided into two halfs with a 10 minute break in the middle:
- 18:45hrs-19:55hrs
- 19:55hrs-20:05hrs
- 20:05hrs-21:15hrs

Our squadron runs in a very similar manner to an RAF base:

- At 19:00hrs we have first parade where the squadron is formed up and then informed of their first duties

- The activites can be anything, from syllabus training in the winter to initiative exercises and military visits in the   Summer. Also there are sports and other outside activities during the summer time

- During the break the canteen is opened, drinks and snacks are available until 20:05

- After the second half activities the squadron is formed up again and any notices made, then dismissed off home
